How and when can I join?

What’s included in my travel card?
Get unlimited travel with trentbarton across the zones that suit you. For more information on the zones included in the saver card are on the trentbarton website.
How do I get my travel card?
We will email you when your card is ready for you to collect from trentbarton.
What happens after the annual period has finished and how do I renew?
When your card is due to expire, we will contact you, letting you know how to renew your card. We will also get in touch if trentbarton impose a price increase which will cause your payment instalments to increase.
How do I pay for my travel card?
You don't have to pay anything up front. NTU buy the season ticket for you, which you repay in 12 monthly instalments. The 12 monthly instalments will be deducted from your net pay.
Will the cost change?
We will notify you if your instalments are due to increase because of any price increase imposed by trentbarton. Cancellation fees do apply, see the FAQ for cancellation for information.
What should I do if I need to cancel my Saver card?
Complete an online benefit selection form and we will arrange cancellation from the end of the month.
Return your cancelled Saver card to the My Benefits Team on the 1st of the following month, or the next working day if the 1st falls on a weekend or Bank Holiday.
If you cancel your Saver card at the end of the 12 months you have purchased travel for, no cancellation fee will be payable. However, if you cancel your card mid-year, Trent Barton will charge a cancellation fee of £15 which will be deducted from your net pay.
What happens if I leave NTU before the end of the 12-month period?
You must email us at MyBenefits@ntu.ac.uk and let us know if you wish to either:
- Cancel - please see above for details of this process. You can request for your card to remain valid until your last day of employment. Your card must be returned to the My Benefits Team on your last day.
- Keep your Saver card and continue to use it - we will refund or deduct any money owed to you, or by you, from your final net pay. If it is not possible to deduct all owed money you will receive an invoice for any amount outstanding.
What happens if I lose or damage my card?
If your card is lost or stolen, you must contact trentbarton immediately on 01773 712 265 and a replacement card will be issued at cost to you (£3). Your previous card will also be made invalid.
